During late 2020, the UK-based Wellcome Trust surveyed more than 119,000 members of the public in 113 countries. It asked about how Covid-19 affected people’s lives and their views about science. Globally, people were more likely to express a high degree of trust in science and scientists in 2020 than they were in 2018.
